Covey Theater is proud to bring the first first non-professional production of the Broadway smash hit Dear Evan Hansen to CNY audiences! Winner of 6 Tony awards, including Best Musical and Best Score, the title character’s journey ask you to “Lift your head and look around, you will be found.”

What happened when two titans of the musical theater world came together for a single collaboration? 5 years before his breakout hit ‘Company,’ Stephen Sondheim partnered as lyricist with Broadway king Richard Rodgers. They transformed Arthur Laurents popular play ‘In the Time of the Cuckoo’ into the musical confection ‘Do I Hear a Waltz?’ with limited success. Featuring a sympathetic heroine, the romance of Venice, and a cadre of colorful characters, we ask CNY audiences to judge the work for themselves in this concert performance at Jazz Central, August 21 & 22!

Sick of politics? So are we! Written by Covey artistic director Garrett August Heater, this diabolically funny new comedy skewers the hypocrisy of American politics. Cassidy Brown is an ambitious 25 year old running in a special election for Congress. Coached and cajoled by his dynastic political family, his meteoric rise to the top is matched only by a spectacular flameout for the ages. Featuring an all-star cast of local performers, you’ll never want to hear the word “Benghazi!” again!

October 16-17, 23-25, 2026
